Len is Installed into Leigh Mark

Len Hart is a very well-known and respected Mason in Leigh being Vice-Chairman of the Leigh Craft Group but he is also a keen Mark Mason as well and has risen through the ranks of Leigh Mark Lodge to become its Master.

He was very ably installed by the outgoing Master, Ken Bowdler, who conducted the ceremony with his usual quite dignity which was appreciated by all those present especially as Ken suffered the loss his wife towards the end of 2014. Our sympathies are with Ken, who nevertheless, did what he had to do in a truly outstanding manner.

Ken Alker was the installing Senior, Warden and Derek Wood as Junior Warden. Walter Lyon acted as installing Inner Guard
The working tools were presented faultlessly by David Scase who was later appointed as Junior Warden.

The addresses to the Master and the Wardens were given by Cyril Broome and to the Overseers by Ken Alker. The Provincial Grand Master was represented by John Foster, Grand Junior Deacon and he was accompanied by Ian Clark and Ken Alker the PGM’s Special Representative. John was presented with a cheque for £200 by the Worshipful Master to West Lancashire Mark Charities for which he thanked the Lodge for their generosity, before he went on to present a Grand Mark Lodge Certificate to our second to last recruit Brother Andy Savage.

Brother Mark Holloway, Master of Ormskirk Mark Lodge gave greetings on behalf of the visitors.
In a true Leigh Masonic manner, individual steak pie and chips was enjoyed by everyone at the Festive Board
